Bio

Albert Harold Lewis was born and raised in Boston, Massachusetts where he studied art and received his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Art Institute of Boston at Lesley University. During this time his interests peaked in historic painting processes which led him towards a career in museums. He worked as a framer for the Museum of Fine Arts Boston before coming to San Francisco in 2014 and eventually working for the Cantor Arts Center at Stanford University. During the 2020 pandemic Albert began to practice Mokuhanga, a Japanese technique of woodblock carving printed with water based colors. Albert currently practices woodblock printing and oil painting from his home in San Francisco, CA.
